[with less gusto than normal, yelp much more commentary on the reflex than actual pain. the far it makes him move doesn't feel good; the room had previously ceased spinning, but as the fever drained out of him, chills and achy joints had been left behind.]
[it doesn't stop him from keeping up a ghost of amusement.]
[As shit as he feels and as terrible as the situation is (they've come up with a cure but they're still wondering on the culprit,) Hinata backs off easy, and it's tough to stay irritated overmuch. Eren's regen might repair some of the cinnabug damage a bit quicker but it doesn't stop him from feeling sick and tired. If anything it exacerbates the latter. But it does keep him a little warmer than most when the air decides to chill.
He frowns over at Hinata's surrender, his snort. And his sir-yes-sir, which sits weird on him even if it's not entirely serious (?) and he raises a hand to scrub the heel of his palm over an eye.]
Shut up. [But don't shut up because—] You okay?
[They'd spent much of the lockdown hanging around and feverishly bitching at each other (or over each other) in times of clarity. But now.]
Hmm... [an annoyingly long pause--- but the fight goes out of him.] M' fine.
[not fine. getting better, though, if slowly. bones feel hollowed and chest like a wet cardboard box ready to collapse into itself, but with the fever receded and eyes only a tad puffy, it was certainly better now than three hours ago.]
You fine?
[getting better didn't make it safe or good or--- anything particularly positive, but as their bantering (to put it kindly) before proved, that wasn't precisely needed to let off steam.]
[at least they were alive and felt like they'd stay alive. honestly, that-- could be enough.]
[He knocks his head back against the hull of the ship. The whole of him sweat-damp and chilling in the cold air.]
Fine. [Firm, if...exhausted. His regen had been running nonstop for hours trying to correct the damage the cinnabugs had been doing and failed to do much but provide more for them to prey on, a warmer environment for them to thrive in. Sapped his energy for very little gain.
Exhausted, but also. Sort of relieved. Because Hinata is a pain in the ass, but a friend, a comrade. (One of his unit, for all that'll mean, for all he's supposed to keep an eye on him, to give him orders that'll keep him alive.) He's very much civilian and very much human and that he's survived so far is an impressive thing so. Again.]

[so worth it.]
Fine, fine...
[a beat.]
[a snort.]
Sir, yessir.

Fine. It'll take more than that to wipe us out.
