[Soon enough Pilot will start with the coordinating messages on the network. And Eren's fine with letting the more personable faces of Orange team handle the PR. He'd rather get right to tracking that thing down and murdering the hell out of it in return than corralling newbies and doing headcounts. But it's not about what he wants.]
FROM: jaeger.eren@cdc.org Have you heard from everyone else?
[He's touched base with Mikasa, predictably, but the rest of the Corps is scattered about the ship.]
[Potential arrivals pings him hard, considering the missing persons from Selena. Armin, Petra, Marco. (Annie?)]
FROM: jaeger.eren@cdc.org
I'd like to know who you hear from, Squad Leader.
[Because he trusts the Corps to keep themselves alive, but it isn't always enough. Because he hasn't heard from Armin or Petra or Annie in the past day, but things have been busy, and it doesn't mean they aren't here—
Overwhelming himself...well, he'll try. Maybe.]
FROM: jaeger.eren@cdc.org
Pilot and Chidori ought to be keeping you posted, but I'll let you know if I hear anything.
[Because if he has faith in anyone to put the pieces together with this, it's Hange. Thinking outside the box is sort of her whole deal.]
Will do. I've come across Erwin on the ship already, but I haven't heard about everyone else who'd been previously spotted on Selena. We'll see.
FROM: hange.zoe@cdc.org
Also, just think of it as me grading you on how effectively you relay information to your subordinates.
[She trusts Pilot and Kaname will keep her updated, but she doesn't mind being given repeat information. Having as many angles as possible will be helpful instances like this, where they aren't sure what information is correct and whether all information is being funneled properly. Thankfully, the NEHEDA is a crew compromised of incredibly competent people, which makes it easier for the group as a whole to eventually reach the same conclusion.]
[Ah, grades, amazing. But he'll do his best. As soon as anything of note reaches him, he'll forward it to Hange after sending it to Parker and the others.
And, after a pause—because he's even more out of his element with murder mysteries than he thought he'd be when he was first given this assignment—]
FROM: jaeger.eren@cdc.org
Do you have any advice so far?
[Because his M/O with murderers and missing persons is pretty much to stop what he's doing to hunt them down and take care of the matter himself, but that's not really applicable right now, when the murderer is hidden and the missing have vanished without a trace. What would you do, Squad Leader?]

Understood.

I just got a message from Pilot on the gist of the situation and to keep an eye on both the other unit members and the newbies.
FROM: hange.zoe@cdc.org
Have the unit leaders set up an overall team meeting yet?

Working on it, ma'am.

I'm currently taking a headcount. Levi went off to scout around for potential arrivals so I should have a report on that within the hour.

Try not to overwhelm yourself, Eren. However, if you can spare it, forward me any info that comes your way.
