[ At some point he probably glanced up and confirmed that Eren had survived, at least, before resuming in the all important tradition of puking his guts up. That's totally concern. ]

[Your scale is flawed and dumb, Jean. But his will to be an asshole about it dwindles incredibly fast, the game attempt at not-quite-rival banter abandoned almost immediately. Because they're both tired, and healing, and they'd been too preoccupied with near death experiences to see the planet blow but that doesn't mean it didn't happen, and there are two members of their squad still unaccounted for. Armin and Connie.
There's been no sign, so far. There's only so much he can do until he's allowed to be properly mobile. (They'll cover more and better ground with a bit of teamwork, coordination. It's a big ship. Things could and would fall through the cracks.) This is Armin and Connie, they've been missing too long already. So.]
FROM: kirstein.jean@cdc.org i dont fucking know eren just go with it [ maybe he just wanted the higher score for once or he's not keeping track of this imaginary pain scale very well or whatever point is...
Armin could just be in stasis somewhere they can't reach. Connie could having more space shits off on the other side of the ship. But that meant they weren't here and he knows Eren bounces back fast, physically and otherwise. That he can be counted on for this.
Their personalities don't even come into the equation. ]
FROM: kirstein.jean@cdc.org okay let's not screw this up
[ A couple minutes later, Eren'll receive an extremely generalized recreation of the ship map they were given, split up into two colors. There's probably no way either of them will manage to get that much ground, but it beat doubling up. Then, a minute later still, ]
[There's nothing to screw up, because there's going to be no one to find. They don't know that. Cannot and will not accept it until they exhaust their other options. First, after the receipt of the makeshift map—]
FROM: jaeger.eren@cdc.org got it I'll take the east
[Unless Jean has any objections. The two sides of the ship are equally alien, really. They've only been here a few times. There's no way they can canvass the whole place on their own. They might as well try.
And then, a minute or so after Jean's last message—]
