[ u good homie but oh, yeah, maybe he should have been more clear. he's sure that she's had it under control, but he can't imagine the things the recruits following her lead had to go through with Erwin off doing some errand for Mother... ]

Yeah her
[ ... what he wants to say back to that heartfelt welcome back is 'I'm not happy to be back in this bloody situation.' but out of some sense of personal responsibility, he pauses in front of the device for a moment. ]
[Sorry Captain. Still honestly better to see you back in this shitty situation than flat on your back in the medtent. Armin has been there too. Still is. There's something extra uncomfortable with seeing humanity's strongest out for the count from some strange alien affliction.
Honestly, though, it's been business as usual. At least, as usual as it gets anymore. Hange didn't go mad with power or anything. They're still as intact as a Corps as they'd been when Levi left.]
FROM: jaeger.eren@cdc.org
I'm fine, sir. Armin's still in stasis, but everyone else is okay. We've been reporting to Squad Leader Hange.
[Because the Commander is still gone, and it's getting pretty concerning. It's been months. But first—]
[ well, yeah. as much as he might not like their situation, he'd fought the caretakers at the medtents to let him leave. that wasn't to any avail, but he's not so inclined to let himself be stranded to a cot while his men are still out there fighting this losing battle. the CDC are unpredictable in ways that titans could never hope to be, directed by higher intelligence, and even though he's kept Erwin's words about the reality of their casualties here in mind, he has no reason to trust that things will stay the same.
at the very least, he was satisfied to trust Hange would tend to things. that's an expectation, not a hope, and anything less would have been a disappointment.
as for Armin, he'd seen him briefly when at last, they allowed him to process out. the way disease has seemingly spread makes him uneasy... but somehow, this whole time he's been more worried about all of them than he has himself. ]

I'm fine now Sorry to keep you waiting I'd have been out sooner but there's been talk of contagions
[ enough about him though. ]

The situation with the shifters Has it been stable
He pauses for a few seconds when the subject of the shifters comes up. He had a tense encounter with Reiner after Sector R, but they'd been working toward the same goal. He hasn't seen much of Annie. So.]
FROM: jaeger.eren@cdc.org
no changes yet, Captain.
[They haven't broken their word yet. They're not exactly working together, but they're not trying to kill each other. (No matter how hard it can be, sometimes.) It's about as stable as it's going to get.]
[ maybe it's a bit disingenuous seeing as he's already asked Hange. but he wanted to see if, from the perspective of those who are likely to be around them more, there was anything different to say. apparently not, but that's not a bad thing. ]

I see Then if there's nothing to report I guess we've gotten off easy
day 38
Hey
Tell me you've managed with glasses
[ yes, that is his way of asking if he's okay. though frankly it's not really the evil they know that he's worried about. ]
